Anthony Hall-Martin (1945 - 2014) was a South African who studied the behaviour and ecology of African elephants and black rhino, especially in the Addo, Tembe, Kruger NP and Kasungu NP. He was the executive director of the National Parks board in South Africa .

Kaokoveld stretches from the Skeleton Coast to the great interior escarpment and highlands of Namibia, and from the Ugab to the Kunene. It is home to the black-faced impala, the desert elephant, black rhino, lion and giraffe which are adapted for survival in the desert.
